Dr. Julie Bleyenberg helps women in Haiti

In April 2011, Dr. Bleyenberg went on a medical mission to Jérémie, Haiti with the Haitian Health Foundation (HHF). Jérémie is located in the western end of Haiti.  It is in one of the poorest regions of a country that has recently been devastated by hurricane, earthquake, and a cholera epidemic - all in 2010.  The HHF provides excellent healthcare programs including an outpatient clinic (Klinik Pep Bondye-a), public health outreach clinics to over 100 mountain villages, and the residential Center of Hope for malnourished children and high risk pregnant women.  Dr. Bleyenberg worked along side the Haitian health agents in providing obstetric and gynecologic care in the mountain village outreach clinics.  She also provided obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound services and teaching for the nursing staff at the Center of Hope.
