Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Dover Women’s Health offers pelvic floor physical therapy treatment in the comfort of our office. Specialized therapy for incontinence is directed to strengthening those pelvic muscles which have become weak and do not function properly. Pelvic sensors are used to measure the electrical tone of the pelvic muscles. These measurements are evaluated, and an individualized treatment plan is developed to help restore the patient’s pelvic muscle health. Each treatment plan may include specific exercises, relaxation training, bladder retraining, stimulation of pelvic muscles and specially designed exercises that are learned in the office and can be practiced at home. Typical treatment includes the initial consultation and approximately 6-8 follow up visits. Most patients find a positive change in symptoms by the 3rd visit.
